Pooja Prasad, MD

Specifically, she is interested in the non-invasive detection of rejection in dual organ transplant recipients and the non-invasive diagnosis of cardiac allograft vasculopathy.

I am an Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant cardiologist, and the Director of Heart Failure Disease Management at UCSF. I have clinical expertise in evaluating and treating patients across the spectrum of heart failure disease severity, including those who require mechanical circulatory support or heart transplantation. I have a particular interest in developing chronic disease management programs to improve clinical outcomes and quality of life in patients with heart failure.

Seeking to deliver holistic care, she believes in the powerful connection between mind and body and in the importance of trust and open communication between patient and provider.

Fiedler's research focuses on increasing patient access to heart transplantation by improving current techniques for organ preservation and procurement as well as by developing new ones.
