I am an Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant cardiologist, and the Director of Heart Failure Disease Management at UCSF. I have clinical expertise in evaluating and treating patients across the spectrum of heart failure disease severity, including those who require mechanical circulatory support or heart transplantation. I have a particular interest in developing chronic disease management programs to improve clinical outcomes and quality of life in patients with heart failure. These include initiatives to expand the use of remote monitoring technologies and platforms, to optimize the application of guideline-directed medical and device therapy, and to improve access to care and transitions of care.

My research interests include the use of biomarkers in understanding response to therapy and outcomes in heart failure, evaluation of novel remote monitoring and therapeutic devices, and approaches to improving delivery of care to broad patient populations.
